Restoration work is not glamorous, and we’re not going to tell you it is. You’ll be pulling wet drywall at 6 a.m., running moisture meters through crawl spaces, and explaining to a stressed homeowner exactly what you found and what happens next. But here’s what’s also true: at the end of a job, you’ve turned something destroyed into something livable again. That matters. Marsh Water Damage Restoration has been doing that work since 2005 as part of the Threshold Group family, and the people who do it best are the ones who like solving real problems, working with their hands, and leaving a job site better than they found it.
Who We’re Looking For
- Water Damage Restoration Technician: The core of the crew – someone who can read a moisture map, set up drying equipment, and communicate clearly with a homeowner who is watching their house get torn apart.
- Mold Remediation Specialist: Detail-oriented and protocol-driven, because mold work has to be done right the first time or it comes back.
- Storm Damage Technician: Calm under pressure, able to assess structural damage quickly, and comfortable working jobs that are still in active chaos when you arrive.
- Restoration Apprentice: New to the trade, willing to learn, and the kind of person who watches what the lead tech does and asks the right questions.
- Dispatcher / Operations Coordinator: The person who keeps jobs moving, answers calls at odd hours without sounding frazzled, and is wired to organize things that other people would let slide.
- Customer Service Representative: The first voice a panicked homeowner hears – patient, precise, and good at gathering the information we need to send the right crew fast.
What We Offer
Real Training and a Clear Path Forward
We credential our technicians through IICRC, RIA, and IFA – the restoration industry’s recognized training and certification bodies. That’s not something we do to put logos on a website; it’s how we make sure every person on a job actually knows what the equipment is doing and why. If you start as an apprentice, the path to lead technician is real and structured, not a vague promise that depends on someone retiring.
Work You Can Stand Behind
Every job at Marsh runs under a written price agreed before work starts, a 365-Day Done Right Promise on every repair, and the Threshold Verified standard for how technicians present themselves at the door. That means when you tell a homeowner you’ll make it right, the whole company is behind you. Working for a company that runs clean jobs makes the work itself cleaner.
Local Crew, National Backing
Each Marsh location is independently owned and operated, so you’re part of a local team – not a number in a call center somewhere else. At the same time, you’re backed by the Threshold Group’s protocols, training, and commercial-grade equipment from Dri-Eaz, Phoenix, XPOWER, B-Air, and Injectidry. You get the culture of a small crew and the infrastructure of a national brand.
Steady, Necessary Work
Water damage doesn’t follow an economic cycle. Pipes burst, storms roll through, and people need help on a timeline they didn’t choose. That reality translates into consistent demand for skilled technicians who can show up, assess the situation, and get to work. This is not a seasonal side job – it’s a trade with real, durable demand built into it.
No Experience? Read This.
If you’ve worked construction, plumbing, HVAC, flooring, or any trade where you had to figure out what was wrong before you could fix it, more transfers than you think. Reading a space, working with equipment, communicating with a homeowner in the middle of a stressful situation – those skills carry over directly.
What we teach is the restoration-specific part: how moisture moves through building materials, how to set up and monitor drying systems, what the Threshold Standard requires from you on every visit, and how to document a job so it holds up if an insurance adjuster asks questions later.
The first months look like this: you shadow a lead technician, learn the equipment hands-on, and build toward your IICRC training. The pace is real but manageable. We’d rather train someone who has the right instincts than hire someone who has the credential but rushes through a job.
How to Apply
Call us at (910) 613-6568 or use the application form below. Let us know where you’re based, what kind of work you’ve done before (even if it’s outside restoration), and when you’d be able to start. Hiring is handled locally at the Marsh location nearest you, so that context helps us connect you to the right team. We review every application and follow up directly.
